Period violin bow inspired by Dodd
Members of the Dodd family in England made very beautiful bows from the last decades of the 18th century well into the 19th century.
I have modified the head and frog profiles of two different Dodd bows so as to be better suited for violin use.
This dark, lightly figured snakewood bow stick is round and the head is finished in a graceful swan-head style. The rear portion of the ebony frog is fluted. The button is turned from ebony.
