The stick and frog are a close copy of a John Dodd original bow branded “NORRIS”, circa 1795. The button is loosely based on other Dodd and French bows of the period. This bow was made during the Oberlin 2005 bowmaking workshop and is stamped with the “Oberlin 2005” brand. The frog is laminated from two pieces of Ivorine-3 and the button is made from ElforynTM. The stick and frog are based on a John Dodd original bow branded “NORRIS”, circa 1795. The faux tortoiseshell material is laminated from a casein-based polymer. The tongue region within the ferrule is reinforced with fiberglass. Since the frog body is mostly transparent, note that the workmanship on the inside must be as good as the outside! Personal model inspired by Pajeot. This bow was mostly finished at the Oberlin 2018 Bow Making Workshop and is marked with the Oberlin 2018 brand. This bow is based on an example circa 1790 located in the Birmingham Conservatory Museum. 148 grams weight.
